“When we say goodbye, you’ll
have a brilliant essay and new communication skills.”
I work with each student individually. We work in person and dig deep to dredge up the details we need. When we say goodbye, I want you to have a brilliant essay and some new communication skills.
For those students with financial concerns, I am happy to donate my services with counselor or teacher recommendations.
Obviously, it would be ideal to get your essay done months before your proposed schools’ deadlines. Save yourself from the stress of worrying about it. Get started now! As soon as we’re on the same team, we’ll find times that are convenient for both of us.

Essay writing advice
Essay creation
Student starts writing. During this period, Lisa is available (with 24-hour response time) by text or email to answer questions or offer support.
Analysis and advice
Student sends the draft to Lisa by the date agreed upon. Lisa analyzes the draft privately and marks strengths, weaknesses, questions, need for examples.
Meet and expand: Lisa and student meet, discuss and expand the essay. If student requests urgent meeting within 48 hours, and Lisa rearranges to accommodate, a 25% rush fee may be charged. Parent might be asked to share real-life stories and examples of student’s character strengths.
Repeat: edits and revisions
Continue with next drafts, analyses and meetings until essay is complete. At the end, Lisa will provide a final proofread of the essay to ensure grammar, punctuation, word choice and spelling are all correct.
Submit
Student submits and family celebrates! 🎉 Student should watch for receipt of submission.
“I will mentor until 10 p.m., but I might need a cookie to stay sharp!”
We need to work where we can talk and laugh but where it’s quiet enough to stay focused. We can meet at a coffee shop, library, The REC of Grapevine, the Whole Foods patio, the second floor of Market Street or at Central Market.
Now what?
You must take the first step. I can meet with your parent first, or we can all meet together for a free 30-minute exploration. I’ll get to know you through a short questionnaire and information I gather from your resume or transcript. Then, we’ll figure out when and where to work.
